The City's growing retail base is reflected in it's sales tax growth over the years. It's industrial base also continues to grow, with the
Wagoner Industrial Development Authority offering various incentive packages to prospective industries and to help existing industries grow.

Currently, the city's largest employer is Unarco, a shopping cart manufacturer, which has about 400 people on the payroll.
Cellxion, a manufacturer of cellular towers, employees 130. Other manufacturers include Polymer Fabrication, LaBarge Pipe and Steel,
Pleasant Hills Manufacturing and Prestolite Electric. Other large employers in the community include the City of Wagoner, Wagoner Public
Schools, Wal-Mart SuperCenter and Wagoner Community Hospital.

Voters continue their commitment to young people by giving solid approval on bond issues to continually improve and build new facilities
for a growing school district. Wagoner Public Schools has a total enrollment of 2486 students. In addition to the capital improvements, the school district has also upgraded its curriculum. Reading readiness programs are in place to focus on early identification of students who are having difficulties in order to aid them in the future. Curriculum changes have been made to give students an earlier exposure to science through a hands-on program. Students in Central Intermediate School and at the Middle School are divided into "families," with a core of teachers for each group of students. This allows teachers to work together both on achieving educational goals and on discipline problems. Wagoner High School provides a broad range of classes to prepare students both for college and for the workforce. Several honors classes are offered and students who are not college bound will find opportunities in the school's business education program, vocational agriculture program or an enrollment in vocational-technical training at Indian Capital Technology Center, with transposition provided between the two facilities.
